Thirteen frame builders – male and female – as diverse in their approach to bike building as in their clientele.
To portray them, the Zurich-based frame builder Röbi Stolz sent the author Thomas Bochet on a cycle tour, crossing Western Europe from the Apennines across the Channel to England. Coursing along on two wheels allows him to track the cultural nuances represented by the work of the individuals he visits.
We have before us an homage to the craft of bike building as Röbi Stolz sees it: the skill and the art of creating bicycles which become one with the body and soul of their riders, opening up new dimensions.
